Umicore is a circular materials technology group. It focuses on application areas where its expertise in materials science, chemistry and metallurgy make a real difference. Its activities are organized in four business groups: Battery Materials, Catalysis, Recycling and Specialty Materials. Each business group is divided into market-focused business units offering materials and solutions that are at the cutting edge of new technological developments and essential to everyday life. Umicore is known for its know-how on homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts in particular on emission control catalysts and aims to lead the energy transition, emphasizing on catalysis.
Umicore will lead the development of the structured catalysts with the most promising catalytic material, which would provide them an advantage position against more traditional ammonia catalyst manufacturing companies. Umicore will be responsible for extrapolating the formulations developed by the Cardiff Univesity and the University of Twente using industrially scalable methods, which are essential for the technological uptake of the project results.
