The University of Twente is the third technical university of the Netherlands. The Catalyst Processes and Materials Group is part of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Science and Technology Faculty.
The University of Twente, project Coordinator, thanks to its expertise on catalysis engineering, will develop and validate a multi-scale model of the FASTER technology (i.e., mass and energy balance) that can capture the dynamic behaviour of the system down to the catalyst scale. Together with CU, UT will combine experimental and computational efforts to discover new materials with enhanced activity under mild temperatures and pressures for ammonia synthesis. The reactor prototype system will be hosted in its state-of-the-art high-pressure lab, which is a unique facility to design and operate reactors working at elevated pressures and temperatures.
